Formfoto: Passport Photo Maker

Privacy Policy

Effective 2026-10-11 · Workaholic Developers

The short version. Formfoto makes your form photos, signatures and files on your phone and keeps them there. There is no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. The app's only network request is an optional download of the public preset list, which sends nothing about you. We (Workaholic Developers) never receive your photos, your files or any data about how you use the app.

Who we are

Formfoto: Passport Photo Maker ("Formfoto", "the app") is made by Workaholic Developers ("we", "us"). For any privacy question, email info@workaholicdevelopers.com.

What we collect: nothing

  • We don't collect, store, sell or share personal data. There is no Formfoto server for your photos, files or settings.
  • There is no sign-up and no account.
  • The app contains no third-party SDKs for advertising, analytics or tracking, and no tracking of any kind.

What the app does on your phone

Photos, signatures and files

Everything you make in Formfoto is processed and stored only on your phone, in the app's private storage: photos, signatures, thumb impressions and declarations, the people you add in the Library, your output files, favourites, custom presets and settings. With each photo, Formfoto keeps the original, its cut-out mask and its measurements, so you can make it again for another form without retaking it. None of this is sent to us or to anyone else through Formfoto. A file leaves your phone only when you save or share it yourself.

Camera

Formfoto uses the camera only to take form photos, signatures, thumb impressions and declarations, and to photograph pages you turn into a PDF. The live checks (head size, centring, tilt, eyes, glare and light) run on the device while you frame the shot. Camera frames are analysed in memory and are not recorded or kept; only the photo you take is saved in the app.

Face checks and background replacement

  • iPhone: face detection, face landmarks and person segmentation use Apple's Vision framework, on the device.
  • Android: face detection and selfie segmentation use Google's ML Kit with the models bundled inside the app, so they run on the device and your images are never sent anywhere. Like every app that uses ML Kit, Google's ML Kit library may send Google anonymous metrics about how its APIs are used and how they perform (for example the device model and Android version, the app's name and version, which API ran, the image size, error codes and timings, with a per-installation identifier that does not identify you). These metrics never include your images, the faces in them or the results.

Formfoto uses these results only to check, crop and cut out your photo. It does not recognise or identify people.

Saving to Photos

Formfoto saves a file to your photo library only when you tap Save. On iPhone it asks for add-only access, so it can add files to Photos but cannot see your library. On Android, the file is added to your Pictures; Formfoto does not read your gallery.

Importing photos

Importing uses the system photo picker (or the Files app). You choose the photos, Formfoto receives only those, and it never asks for access to your photo library.

Widgets

Formfoto's widgets show your favourite presets and your recent files only on your own device. They are drawn on the phone from the app's own data, and nothing is sent anywhere.

The preset list: the app's only network request

Formfoto ships with a built-in preset list. To keep it current, the app can download the public list from https://formfoto.wdlab.app/presets.json, at most once a day when you open the app and whenever you tap Check now in Settings › Preset updates. You can switch automatic checks off in the same place.

  • The request is a plain download of a public file. It carries no account, no identifier and none of your photos, files or settings.
  • Our web server (nginx) does not log requests for this file, so we keep no record of who downloaded it or when.
  • The app only uses a downloaded list when it is valid and newer than the one it has; otherwise it keeps the built-in list.

Links

Links to our website, the app stores, email, the official notices that presets cite, or other Workaholic Developers apps open in your browser or mail app. Those sites and services have their own privacy policies.

This website

formfoto.wdlab.app has no cookies, no analytics and no ads, and loads nothing from other sites. Like any web server, it keeps standard access logs (IP address, user agent, page requested and time) for security. They are deleted automatically after 14 days.

Children

Formfoto is not directed at children under 13. Because the app collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children. Parents can make photos for their children's forms; those photos stay on the parent's phone.

Deleting your data

  • Deleting the app deletes everything Formfoto stored on your phone. You can also use Settings › Delete all data.
  • Files you saved to Photos or shared stay where you put them.
  • You can change or withdraw camera and Photos access at any time in your phone's Settings.
  • We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete. You are still welcome to ask us anything.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above. If the app ever handles data differently (which would need an app update), we will explain it here before that update is released.
